I found out yesterday that my uterus is now the size of a grapefruit..... and I can really feel it now.... WEIRD! My sickness has lessened quite a bit, which I am very happy about! I am still sick off and on but not as consistent as I was there for a while! Plus I have actually had some energy off and on as well, just by 8:00 pm I am usually DEAD! Work has been BLAH lately so my friend Lindsy and I came up with a business plan and we decided to start our own event planning business, in which we will mainly focus on weddings..... our business is going to be called "Perfect Day Planners" and we already have a couple weddings we are working on, we both love planning, both are very organized, and both love weddings so I think it will be really great! Hopefully someday it will be big enough for us to do it full time!!!!
Back to baby talk..... my mom bought us our first set of baby clothes and some bibs, gender neutral of course. I love all the old wise tales that everyone keeps telling me about how to predict if it is a boy or a girl, if they are true then I am having a mixed boy/girl freak because each one of them tells me something different. haha ......... I go to the doctor tomorrow for my first official pregnancy exam, Jake is coming with me and I think we are going to get to hear the heart beat! THAT WILL BE AWESOME, I CANT WAIT! Here is the baby update of the week:
Week 10 of Pregnancy: Baby's Bones Develop
Your baby's growth is fast and furious when you are 10 weeks pregnant. He or she is nearly an inch and a half long and the size of a prune, but not nearly as shriveled (even with all the time it spends in water). In fact, your baby is really taking a human shape now. Bones and cartilage are forming, and small indentations on the legs are developing into knees and ankles. The arms (complete with elbows) can flex already, but don't run to the store for a baseball bat just yet. Though your baby's arms are taking shape and getting stronger, each one is only about the size of this number 1. The tooth bud fairy is making her appearance this week, heralding the arrival of your baby's little choppers, which are forming under the gums. (Those pearly whites won't break through the gums until your baby is close to six months old). Other systems are go, too. Your baby's stomach is producing digestive juices, the kidneys are producing larger quantities of urine, and, if your baby's a boy, he's already producing testosterone (yikes!).

So you don't want to come back to NW Y? sniff.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, it's your uterus that is the size of the grapefruit, not your cervix, because holy hell, if there were true, you'd be in delivery with that prune baby falling out. :)
Stef! I am so excited for you guys! Being a mama is the best thing ever! congrats! I'll bet your families are so excited as well (grandma will probably have a whole shoe collection ready for the little one) :) ...I will be back to visit your blog and get updates; so glad I came across it.
ReplyDeletep.s. I found that eating enough high protein foods in the morning was the only way to not feel sick.(unless you already knew that)... it is so crazy how much a baby can take out of you. :) enjoy the journey, its so much fun!
